The only discipline you’ll ever need to adopt
Discipline yourself to FEEL GOOD! That is the only discipline that you need! Make a decision that you are going to do that - and speak that, and think that – which makes you feel good. That is the only thing you need to know! We could have boiled down all of these hours of babbling to you into one sentence, and that is:
“SEEK THAT WHICH MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD AND GIVE YOUR ATTENTION TO THAT!”
Great reminder from Abraham ( Esther Hicks ) on the importance of taking time to just BE !
Abraham on Experiencing The Here And Now:
“The beasts that came before you, who banged around on this planet, denoted at cellular conscious and unconscious levels, their preferences. And that is how the atmosphere was prepared for you. They did not write one thing on their “things to do today” pads. They just be’d and perceived and concluded and asked vibrationally. And the Universe expanded as a result of their willingness to have exposure to the contrast.
And you are not different from them. You have no greater responsibility than they did. The contrast produces the desire within you, and the Universe expands as a result of it. The only question is, the question that we want so much to answer is, are you letting it in? Are you letting yourself experience the benefit of your precious focus and your vast experience in the here and now? You’ll never get it done. You cannot get it wrong. So don’t you think it’s time for you to lighten up and start having more fun with all of this, and accept that you are Eternal Beings? And since you are Eternal Beings, then there’s no point in rushing, because there’s never going to be a time when you don’t exist.”
As discussed in the previous chapter our lives here are governed by certain immutable Universal Laws. One of these is The Law of Correspondence, sometimes referred to as The Great Law, more commonly known as Karma.
“The basic idea of karma is not punishment. Karma presents the opportunity for development; to make use of opportunities that were not taken advantage of, to fill in gaps of ignorance, to enlarge understanding through experience, to do what should be done.” ~ Seth (Jane Roberts), ‘The Early Sessions’, Session 388.
We don’t start over with a clean slate every time we begin a new life. That would lead no-where, we arrive here with all the knowledge, wisdom, and love for which we have struggled and, worked so hard to earn.
“When you have been back to this virtual reality a few times you get nudged a lot by guidance. Each time you come back initially you know zero but after a many incarnations you will start to be nudged to remind you. Paranormal experiences will pop in your face to speed up your process and so, as you don’t lose the gains you made in previous lifetimes, an attempt is made to bring you back up to speed so you can get to the bit where you were at the last time.” ~ Dr. Thomas Campbell, Physicist
Unfortunately, as well as all the good we have done, the lessons we have learned, and the progress we have made, we also bring with us all the garbage- the karmic debt, the hate, the fear, the guilt, and the prejudices we have accumulated over many difficult and challenging lifetimes.
“Emotional baggage,” which is carried over from the past, colors our perceptions. Likewise, past conclusions and beliefs, based on reasoning that may or may not have been accurate, also tint our perception of reality. Retaining our capacity for reason is common sense, but definite conclusions and beliefs keep us from seeing life as it really is at any given moment. Emotional reactions can be unreasonable, and reason can be flawed. It’s difficult to have deep confidence in either one, especially when they’re often at war with each other.” ~ H.E. Davey, ‘Japanese Yoga’: The Way of Dynamic Meditation
Our entire lives’ experiences, past and present, are stored forever in our subconscious minds. Every deed, thought, and act we have ever carried out, either in this life, or any of our past lives has been recorded for all time. This information is recorded and stored in our subconscious mind in the form of memories. The subconscious mind if undirected then uses that information to dictate our responses, actions and reactions in this lifetime. It is these memories that are being used to create our own individual realities.
In order for us to move on we are continually presented with opportunities to clear karmic debt.
“Every person, all the events of your life, are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you.” ~Richard Bach, Author
Unfortunately instead of resolving the problem we frequently get stuck in a loop. Many of us find ourselves repeating the same mistakes over and over again, finding ourselves in the same situations repeatedly as if we were deliberately punishing ourselves for some forgotten guilty act.
Well perhaps we are…
-Paul Jackson ‘Ho’oponopono Secrets’
To touch someone with kindness, is to change someone forever.
Because for everyone you touch, you also reach everyone they will ever know. And everyone they will ever know. And everyone they will ever know. And so, for the rest of all time, your kindness will be felt, in waves that will spread, long after you move on. – Mike Dooley
One of the difficulties I encountered when first attempting to connect with the larger consciousness system was what to ask for? I knew I wanted to expand my consciousness. I wanted to learn, to grow, and I wanted experiences that would prove to myself the true nature of my reality..
But how exactly did I go about that?
One of the first lessons I learned about communicating with higher consciousness was that it was extremely important to be very clear and precise in whatever request you were sending out into the universe. No dithering or waffling.. tell it exactly what you want or desire.
The problem was I didn’t know what I wanted! Back then I didn’t even have enough knowledge to know what my options were. And I certainly didn’t feel confident enough to make a conscious choice as to what was good for me and my growth.
So I came up with a request that helped me counter this dilemma that you might find useful in your own expansion.
Every night before sleep I would run the following mantra through my head;
I AM OPEN TO RECIEVE ANY WISDOM, KNOWLEGE, INFORMATION, OR HELP THAT WILL ASSIST ME IN EXPANDING MY AWARENESS..
I AM OPEN TO RECIEVE ANY WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, OR INFORMATION THAT WILL ASSIST ME IN EXPANDING MY AWARENESS..
I AM OPEN TO RECIEVE ANY WISDOM OR KNOWLEDGE THAT WILL ASSIST ME IN EXPANDING MY AWARENESS..
I AM OPEN TO RECIEVE ANY WISDOM THAT WILL ASSIST ME IN EXPANDING MY AWARENESS..
I AM OPEN TO RECIEVE..
I AM OPEN..
Repeat as necessary until you fall alseep all the while visualizing yourself with arms outstretched and the Universe flowing through you.
Try to have no expectations as to what will occur leave that to The Divine
My original review written shortly after first reading
My Big TOE.
Who should read these books?
Anyone who desires to advance to adult level in this children’s world in which we presently live should go to the trouble of working their way through this trilogy of books, whatever the cost in effort determined by the level at which you choose to learn.
Anyone who already functions as an adult should read this trilogy in order to complete your understanding of the Reality in which you must function and of which you are an integral part.
What can you expect to learn or achieve?
Almost everything that you need to know that is not, of necessity, “do it yourself” only! The author has specifically written the My Big TOE trilogy for reading on several levels with corresponding levels of effort required. Please understand that my comments are intended to encourage you to read, not to discourage you from reading, these books. My intent is to show you why you should read these books at no matter what cost in effort you choose to expend. First, you will find out how much you need to unlearn. Then you will find out how much you do not understand of what is being said and what is going on around you. If however you already possess a high level of such knowledge, you can expect to have a great deal clarified. This trilogy of books constitutes what in the field of physics is called a “theory of everything”, thus the acronym TOE. You will see that this is literally true of these books.
To come close to fully understanding My Big TOE requires a high entry threshold, a wide range of knowledge. The author has tried to offset this by reiterating his message from different viewpoints in order to aid your understanding. As he also points out, much of the detail can be skipped as useful to advanced specialists and the main points still be comprehended. He has also tried to relieve the intensity with humorous comments. Not everyone will be able to appreciate the humor however, which the author recognizes, and it is also optional. If you have been to graduate school in the sciences, you will recognize the author as a kindred spirit. He worked as a physicist in industry and collaborated with Robert Monroe of Out of Body fame in his early research.
The main points will provide you with an understanding of the Reality of which you are a part. How it originated, the few characteristics and principles from which it began and by which it developed, including that small part of the greater reality that we experience in our day to day lives. You will be surprised that these principles are things which you probably already know about, just not their full significance in the greater reality. You will also be given a general description of that part of the greater reality which we do not normally experience but which you can if you so desire. This will be developed logically and a reference is given in which a detailed description of our every day “physical” reality, including its physics as understood by present day science and beyond, is developed from the same set of beginning principles as given in My Big TOE. These principles are applicable to the present reality in which you live. Knowing what they are will tell you a lot about what to expect from life, how to deal with it and what is the best way to interact with others for your maximum spiritual advancement during your passage through it.
You will be told the veritable meaning of life and your place in it. It is more explicitly stated than you will find in most other places. It will probably be a great surprise to you and you may not find it to be comforting. Note that I mentioned that we live in a children’s world and much that you and everyone else have been taught is intended for comfort, not reality and literal truth. Keep in mind at all times while you read and study My Big TOE that you in your true being are a native and at home in this reality and that you have been dealing with it reasonably successfully through many previous periods of “physical” life when you did not have this information. Now you will have the true story. This information is almost never available while incarnated, other than in very diluted and culturally distorted form. It will be a lot like when you first found out where babies came from. Learning about the pleasure possible, the responsibilities and difficulties involved in the greater process are a matter for you to experience and thus learn for yourself. From these 3 books you will have the information necessary to literally take your first step as a conscious adult while still involved in a “physical” life into the greater reality of which you are a resident part and that is your true home.
Will these books change your life?
Only to the degree to which you are willing and prepared to change. Over time, the degree of change could be very profound if you choose to expend the effort to make it so.
Will you be sorry that you read them?
Only to the extent and in the sense that it is an end of innocence. You will be made aware of laws of being of which ignorance is no excuse. Since you will be judged based on things that you are presently ignorant of with that ignorance not accepted as an excuse, best to lose such innocence. And no problems with apples, snakes and “original sin” this time!

If you have any interest at all in metaphysics I urge you to read Dr. Tom Campbell’s My Big TOE Triology (My Big Theory of Everything). Tom is a highly regarded physicist and was one of the first mainstream scientists to work with the pioneering OBE (Out of Body Experience) researcher Robert Monroe way back in the early 1970s before the establishment of the Monroe Institute. It’s taken Tom over 30 years to come up with his Big Theory of Everything and boy was it worth waiting for! -
Here’s Tom on reincarnation:
“When you have been back to this virtual reality a few times you get nudged a lot by guidance. Each time you come back initially you know zero but after a many incarnations you will start to be nudged to remind you. Paranormal experiences will pop in your face to speed up your process and so, as you don’t lose the gains you made in previous lifetimes, an attempt is made to bring you back up to speed so you can get to the bit where you were at the last time.” - Dr. Tom Campbell, My Big T.O.E.
So where do we fit into the big picture..here’s Seth to explain
“What you call God is the sum of all consciousnesses, and yet the whole is more than the sum of Its parts. God is more than the sum of all personalities (souls), and yet all personalities are what He is.”~ Jane Roberts, The Seth Material
Excellent advice from metaphysical giant Neville Goddard
How do you sleep?
Metaphysical teacher Neville Goddard offers us this description of what takes place while we sleep: Sleep is the door through which the conscious, waking mind passes to be creatively joined to the subconscious. Sleep conceals the creative act while the objective world reveals it. In sleep man impresses the subconscious with his conception of himself.
Each night as I drift off to sleep, I adamantly refuse to use this precious time to review anything that I do not want to be reinforced in the hours of being immersed in my subconscious mind. I choose to impress upon my subconscious mind, and therefore the mind of God to which I am eternally joined, my conception of myself as a Divine creator in alignment with the one mind. I groggily reiterate my I ams, which I have placed in my imagination, and I remember that my slumber will be dominated by my last waking concept of myself. I am peaceful, I am content, I am love, I am writing, I am the governing power of the universe, and I attract only to myself those who are in alignment with my highest ideals of myself.
This is my nightly ritual, always resisting any temptation to go over any fear or unpleasantness that my ego might be asking me to review. I assume the feeling in my body of those I am statements already fulfilled, and I enter my sleep inviting the instruction that my subconscious mind welcomes. I know that I’m allowing myself to be programmed while asleep, for the next day I rise knowing that I am a free agent. I understand that every action and event of the day is essentially predetermined by my feelings as I prepared for sleep, and while I was in that place of warmth and trust in the arms of the one universal subconscious mind.
Here are some suggestions for your own bedtime routine:
— As you lie in bed preparing for your nightly slumber, remember that the last thought you have in your mind can last up to four hours in your subconscious mind. That’s four hours of programming from just one moment of contemplation prior to going into your unconscious state. Create a reminder like a prayer or mantra to place by your bed. Write these words and read them as you get comfortable: I am going to use these moments to review what I intend to manifest into my life. Keep that sign there to remind you how to spend your pre-sleep moments nightly.
—If before dropping off to sleep you are assailed by worry, distress, or fear, do not stay in bed. Get up, turn on the light, take a few deep breaths, read from a spiritual text, meditate for a few moments in front of a white candle, say a prayer—do anything other than staying there lying down. You cannot defend yourself against these onslaughts while remaining snug in your bed. If distressing feelings come back when you return to bed, get up, turn on the lights, and try something else. When you finally do feel peaceful back in bed, repeat your loving I ams and drift off to sleep ready to have your ears opened and your instructions sealed.

A profound reminder from Seth
“There are human beings on the face of this earth who do not know what love means, or companionship, who do not have parents, who do not have sisters or brothers, who understand an isolation that is bleak and cold, even if it is of their own making. Each of you in this room who has the opportunity to share with another then know that is grace, and be thankful for that which you experience, and do not underestimate what you have.
There are personalities who have traveled through the centuries, literally, without such an understanding. And if this was their reality, and if it was their making, still be glad that it is not yours, and accept those relationships that you now have, and realize their potential and do not close yourselves off through stupid pride and through barriers of your own making. ~ Seth (Jane Roberts) – Seth Speaks on Amazon
Fascinating article on ‘Oneness’ from Jocelyn Mercado at Pachamama.org..
“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” – Alan Watts
“You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.” – Eckhart Tolle

Sometimes we need a little reminding of just how ‘charming’ we all are
Here’s Jane Roberts to help us:
Exreacted from The Further Education of Oversoul Seven by Jane Roberts
The Charmed Life
Seth: “Each life is charmed, yours and everyone else’s, and you must never
forget it. The instant you’re born, you’re charmed, because life itself
is a charm. Each being is charmed into existence itself, and given
everything it needs to operate in the environment. Your body is charmed,
too: Its a magic part of everything else; springing up from all the
things you see about you. Atoms and molecules go singing through the
miraculous air, forming themselves into rocks and trees and dogs and cats
people, too. You are magic. You charm the air so that it thickens into
your body wherever you are.
“When you want to move, you think the air ahead of you into becoming your
body, and the air behind you then stops being your body … all very
magical indeed. You move your arm just one inch to the right, and the air
to the left one inch stops being part of your arm. But it all happens so
quickly, your snatching of the air and making it turn into you body, that
you never notice it at all, and take it quite for granted. which is why
it works so well, you see.
“But your life is charmed. And there is a secret, a very simple one.
Really, its not a secret. But you have to remember that your life is
charmed. People who forget can’t use their magic nearly as well as they
did before, and they have a tendency to get angry at those who can. So,
often, they pretend that no magic exists at all. Then they evolve great
philosophies to prove it, which is itself magical, of course. But they
cant see that, because they’re so convinced that magic doesn’t exist.
“And many people forget how simple and natural magic is, so they evolve
long theories, and methods that are supposed to make it work, when you
and I know, and everyone else really knows, that magic happens by itself,
because that’s what magic is.
“But people are also very creative … magic again! … so they make up
gods of this and that, and realms and spheres, and maps to chart out in
advance where magic might be taking them so the don’t get surprised,
which is silly because magic goes where it wants to, which is everywhere.
And when you try to map it out in advance, your really cut yourself
“Because a characteristic of magic is that it automatically turns into
whatever you want it to be. You create your own reality with it, so
whatever maps you make are real. And if you forget what magic is, then
you’re liable to think that your map is the only real one, and all others
are false. You get in a terrible bind, fighting over which way is right,
which road or map, while all the time magic is what makes the maps. And a
great variety of maps can appear in the twinkling of an eye!
“Particularly when you grow up, many people will tell you that there is
no magic. If you believe them, then you’ll forget too, and you’ll act as
if you aren’t charmed and bring un-magic into your life… which is magic
too, you see, but magic that doesn’t know itself. Then you’ll create
things that go with un-magic, like sorrow or sickness, and you’ll have to
deal with them at that level until you remember that your life is charmed
“So in the meantime you’ll feel nasty and unloved and angry, way beyond
what is natural, and have to worry about sad or fearful emotions and what
to do with them, when magically, you’d know. They’d just come and go
exuberantly like summer storms. But anger and hate and sorrow are all
magic too, and left alone, they’d lead you back to the knowledge that
your life is charmed. Because hate is love looking for itself every place
but where love is, and love is what you feel for yourself when you know
that you are where you’re supposed to be in the universe, and that you’re
lovely just because you are, and of course, charmed.
“Not only that, but you’re also the magic maker; the inner living part of
you that forms your life. But consciously you have to know this, accept
and acknowledge it, and let the magic of yourself happen. That way,
you’re directing the magic of yourself.
“But its even more fun just to let the magic happen as it wants to,
because its your magic, and that way it keeps telling you more and more
about your magical self. Then the magic flows through you with unimpeded
delight. If you keep saying, I want it this way and no other, then you
may be limiting your physical experience, because there’s no doubt that
your magical self knows more about your potentials than you do. And it
will tell you quite clearly, if you only listen.
“To many adults, all of this sounds too simple and unintellectual,
because unfortunately many of them think that the mind is just something
to say no with, and to keep out magic. Nothing could be further from
“But if you use your mind to say no to magic, then its like closing
doors to your own charmed existence, and refusing to use the full power
of your life.
“Everyone works with magic, whether they realize it or not. Beliefs are
magic, too, you see. Many people think that one particular belief makes
everything right; or makes magic happen. And as long as they believe
that, they’re all right for a while. But if they start doubting that
belief, and don’t find another one to replace it, then they think that
they’ve lost their Magic, or that life has. Instead, of course, the magic
is there all along.
“But people love systems, so they use all kinds of beliefs… some of
them quite handy… as aids. And they travel through belief systems,
sometimes going to considerable trouble to do so, when all they really
have to remember is that they are magic themselves, and their lives are
charmed without their having to do anything about it at all.
“And your conscious mind is magic, too. Its workings are mysterious and
complicated, and simple and clear at once, like air is. Your conscious
mind looks out through your eyes, and knows parcels of air as its body,
and smiles through cheeks and skin the same way that the moon shines
through the wide skin of the heavens. See how clear and mysterious it all
is? So, in a way, its silly for the conscious mind to question magic,
because well, its so magical itself.
“But systems of magic are silly, too, and all of them are really based
upon doubt. Magic is considered so tenuous that someone has to be at it
all the time, making spells or paying someone else to do it. And the
spells all have to be done right, so people concentrate on how to do this
spell or another. This gets very complicated, and many adult books deal
with the subject.
“But everything is a spell. Your words and thoughts are spells. Science
is just another system that tries to discover what certain spells cause
certain effects. Usually, of course, scientists don’t understand magic
any more than priests do; and they all get caught up in their own
“There isn’t much basic difference between muttering a lot of different
phrases or drawing magic circles to protect yourself against illness, and
taking handfuls of pills given to you by doctors. Both methods work if
you believe in them, though the practitioners of one method will never
agree that the other way works at all, of course. And unfortunately,
neither side really understands magic, which is behind all of the spell
and methods and formulas.
“Spells work if you believe in them; only you don’t need spells at all.
Everything happens by itself. You happen by yourself, so does the world.
And the principle behind all is magic. And magic is the being-ness within
and behind all things.” -

Great article here from Deliberate Bliss.com on how The Universe sends us signs..do you recognise any of them ?
15 Ways The Universe Sends You Messages
You are not an isolated being, cut off from the rest of reality.
You are connected to the universe in countless intricate ways like threads woven through your very being. And it is through these threads that the universe can send you messages.
No doubt you’ve come across many of them in your life, sometimes without even realizing what they are. You might have considered them coincidence, but there is a good chance they were signs from the universe designed to guide you one way or another.
Here are 15 such ways that the universe might send you messages.
1. Recurring Experiences
Do you ever notice times when the same thing seems to happen to you day after day?
Perhaps you keep spilling a drink, stubbing your toe, or losing your phone in quick succession – each of these things might have a deeper meaning that is not obvious at first glance.
Your unconscious mind is the part of you that is most deeply rooted in the wider universe and is most open to receiving messages.
And these messages are often passed on through the medium of dreams. It is when we are asleep that we tune in to our unconscious minds for long enough to absorb the message being sent.
The natural world has many vessels through which it can send the universe’s messages, and none more important than animals.
Repeated sightings of a particular animal or animal behavior can be a strong sign of unfulfilled desires or of things to come. For example, continually noticing flocks of birds flying high in the sky might be a sign that you feel the need to travel and escape for a while.
4. Patterns Of Numbers
While numbers themselves may be a human construct, they can still be a form of communication from the universe. You need to be on the lookout for patterns because it is within these that the messages can be found.
Repeating numbers such as 11:11 or consecutive numbers such as 1, 2, 3 may hold hidden meanings; all you have to do is decipher them.
No doubt you’ve experienced this one many times – when you are thinking about someone just before they call, text, or you bump into them in person.
Most often, this is a sign that you are on the right path. It is the universe’s way of confirming to you that your thoughts perfectly align with your future reality. It is the universe giving you a big “yes” to confirm that you are heading in the right direction…

Seth on violence;
Channeled by Jane Roberts
“There is never any justification for violence. There is no justification for hatred. There is no justification for murder. Those who indulge in violence for whatever reason are themselves changed, and the purity of their purpose adultered. It is wrong to curse a flower and wrong to curse a man. It is wrong not to hold any man in honor, and it is wrong to ridicule any man. Your must honor yourselves and see within yourselves the spirit of eternal validity. You must honor all other individuals, because within each is the spark of this validity. When you curse another, you curse yourselves, and the curse returns to you. When you are violent, the violence returns.” – Seth ( Seth Speaks 1994 )
The Island Analogy extracted from the Seth material channeled by Jane Roberts, one of the most important bodies of metaphysical work in the world today; So important that it has it’s own collection in the library of the prestigious Yale University.
It was Jane who first coined the phrase – “Your thoughts create your reality”
The Island Analogy
Channeled by Jane Roberts;
Imagine that you are a small sandy island with softly graded shores, some palm trees, and a haven for traveling birds. Pretend further that you are quite content, though sometimes lonely. A fine fog encircles you, though it does not prevent the sun from shining directly down. You feel quite independent, and you think of the fog as a kind of cocoon that gently shields you from the great expanse of an endless sea.
Then, however, you begin to wonder about the other islands that you know exist beyond your vision. Are they like you? Your wondering forms a tiny window in the fog, and you look through. Astonished, you discover that a small coral path unites you with the next island that is glimpsed, shimmering now through the ever-growing window in the mist. Who is to say where you end and the other island begins?
As you wonder, more astonished still, you discover other coral paths extending from you in all directions. These lead to further islands. “They are all me,” you think, though each is very different. One may have no trees at all, and another be the home of a volcano. Some may be filled with soft grasses, innocent of sand.
Now this first island is very clever indeed, and so it sends its spirit wandering to the closest counterpart, and says: “You are myself, but without sand or palm trees.” Its neighbor responds: “I know. You are me without my towering volcano, ignorant of the thundering magic of flowing lava, and rather stupid (emphatically), if the truth be known.”
The spirits of the two islands join for a journey to a third one, and there they discover a top-heavy land filled to the brim with strange birds and insects and animals that neither knew at home. The first island says to the third: “You are myself, only unbearably social. How can you stand to nurture so many different kinds of life?”
The second island-spirit says, also to the third: “You are myself, only my excitement, my joy and beauty, are concentrated in the magic of my volcano, and you instead stand for the twittering excitement of diverse species-birds and animals and insects-that flow in far less grandiose fashion across the slopes of your uneasy land.
The third island, startled,’replies: “I am myself, and you must be imperfect versions of my reality. I would no more be a dull island of only sand and palm’s, or a neurotic landscape of burning lava, any more than I would be a snail. My life is far the better, and you two are only poor shadowy counterparts of me.”
The first island responds, in our hypothetical dialogue: “I suspect that each of us is quite correct And more, I wonder if we are really islands at all.”
The second island says: “Suppose my spirit visits your island for a while, to discover what it is like to possess palm trees, a few birds, and a tranquil shore. I will give up my volcano for a while, and try to make an honest evaluation, if you will in turn come to my land and promise to view it without prejudice. Perhaps then you will understand the great majesty and explosive power of my exotic world.”
The third island says: “I am myself too busy for such nonsense. The many species that roam my domain demand my attention, and if you two want to exchange your realities that is fine but leave me out of it, please.”
The spirit of the first island visits the second one, and finds itself amazed. it feels an ever-thrusting power, rushing up from beneath, that erupts in always-changing form. Yet it is always itself, comparing its experience to what it has known. When the volcano itself, ceaselessly erupting, wishes for peace, the spirit of the first island thinks of its own quiet home shores. The volcano learns a new lesson: It can direct its power in whatever way it chooses, shooting upward or lying quietly. It can indeed be dormant and dream for centuries. It can, if it chooses, allow soft sands to he gracefully upon its cooling expanse.
In the meantime, the spirit of that volcanic island is visiting the first island, and finds itself enchanted by the still waters that lap against the shore, the gentle birds, and the few palm trees. However, it seems that the palm trees, and the birds and the sand, have dreamed for centuries.’
One day a bird flies out further from that first island than ever before, to another one, and comes back with a strange seed that falls from its beak. The seed grows. From it springs a completely new and unknown species of plant, as far as the island is concerned; and the plant in turn brings forth flowers with pollen, fruits, and scents (Spelled) that have a different kind of creativity that is still its own. The spirit of the second island, then, brings forth elements in the first island that were not active earlier, but it becomes homesick, and so it finally returns to its own land.
What a transformation! Its volcano, it finds, now gives birth to soil and pollen, its excitement roused in a million different ways. it meets the spirit of the first island that has been living there, and says: “What a change! I would like a still more spectacular display. The flowers are not nearly colorful or wild enough. It is, if you will forgive me, too well-tamed-yet all in all you’ve done wonders. Now, however, I’d like a cultural interchange with others still unknown; and if you don’t mind I wish you to go home. This is, after all, me, and my land.”
The spirit of Island One says: “I quite enjoyed my aventure, and I’ve learned that the great explosive thrusts of creativity are good-but, oh, I yearn for my own quiet, undisturbed shores; and so if you don’t care I think I’ll return there.” And so it does-to find a land in some ways transformed. The sands still lie glittering, but the fog and mists are gone. The beloved birds have multiplied, and there is in the old familiar saneness a new, muted, but delightful refrain, colon: new species in keeping with the old, but more vigorous. The spirit of Island One realizes that it would find the old conditions quite boring now, and the new alterations fill it with pleasing excitement and challenge. What a delightful interchange. For the spirit is convinced that it definitely improved the condition of Island Two, and there is no doubt that the spirit of the second island improved Island One beyond degree.
In the meantime, Island Threes spirit has been thinking. The spirits of island one and Two did not appeal to it (or to him or her in any of these cases, if you prefer) at all. It was determined to retain its own identity. Yet it too has become lonely, and it has seen endless coral paths reaching out from itself
Its spirit followed one such path and came upon a desert island upon which nothing grew. Figuratively, its image was appalled. “How can you stand such barrenness?” it calls to the spirit of this fourth island.
That island spirit responds: “Even the vigor of your questions sickens me. I sense that you come from a land so overcrowded and tumultuous that it makes my sands blanch even further, and the knuckles of my rocks turn white.”
Island Three’s spirit says: “You are myself, utterly devoid of feeling-dead and barren.” The spirit of the desert island replies: “I am myself. You must be some counterpart, drunken with sensation, not realizing the purity of my own stripped-down nothingness.” The two confront each other sideways, for neither can look in the others eyes. What opposites, what contrasts, what fascinations! So they strike a bargain. The spirit of the desert island says: “You are all wrong. I will go to your land and prove it, and you can stay here and partake of the joys of ‘my peaceful existence-and, I hope, learn the value of austerity.”
So the spirit of Island Four journeys to that other reality, where all kinds of life swarm over shore and mountain, and the spirit of the third island visits a world of such peace that all motion seems stilled.
What peace! Yet in the peace, what power! And so little by little cacti grow where there were none, delicate buds opening, filled with water. The spirit of the third island immediately begins to transform the desert island. Great changes appear, and showers of power-quick bursts of rain, explosive inundations of energy.
in the meantime, the spirit of the desert island is almost overwhelmed by the teeming life forms on island Three, so next it visits the volcanic one; and when the volcano becomes frightened of its own energy the spirit of the desert island says: “Peace. It is all right to sleep, all right to dream. You do not need to be so worried for your energy. it can flow swiftly, or slowly, in surges of dreams that take ages. Do as you will.”
So the volcano throws its energy into the formation of still more new species, while the desert spirit sings its calmness through their tissues. But this new life confounds it also, and it yearns to return home to its old quietude. There the spirit of the third island has quickened the deserts abilities so that it blooms with muted flowers not present before. The two spirits meet. Each island is changed. “We are counterparts, each of the other, yet inviolate.”
And the spirit of the volcanic island says to the spirit of the first island. “My volcano knows, now, how best to use its energy. it can shoot into the heavens in great displays, or creep into the tiny crevices of earth, equally powerful.”
And the spirit of the first island responds: “You have taught my island that life is not something to be afraid of, though still it is translated in my own familiar gentle terms.”
This is the end of our analogy. The spirit of each of the four islands was itself intact, and the interchanges were chosen. You are not islands unto yourselves, except when you choose to be. Each counterpart views reality from its own viewpoint, and there is never any invasion.

3 Main Signs That You Are Experiencing A Spiritual Awakening
By Steven Bancarz| As you go through your journey of awakening, many things about you and your life start to change. There are many articles out there titled “20 symptoms of spiritual awakening” and they touch on all of the possible experiences that could be related to awakening. But at the very beginning of awakening, the signs you experience are much less in number.
They are less in number, but are far more intense and tangible. Sometimes, they may even be overwhelming to the point where it is humorous to you. When you are in the beginning phases of self-realization and self-discovery, the “symptoms” you experience are so potent that they completely transform your life.
Having a spiritual awakening is synonymous with realizing that there is more to life than you have been taught to believe. There is more to you, the universe, God, and the human experience than just paying the bills and joining the rat race. Something within you begins to detect that there is deeper meaning waiting to be discovered, and as you begin to detect this, your mind, body, and soul begin to transform.
Here are 3 main signs that you are experiencing a spiritual awakening:

Getting frustrated..things that you desire not turning out as planned?
Here are some wise words that might help on the subject from Ivan Kelly -
“Despite endless positive thinking about the things we want in life, it can be disturbing when they don’t appear and can’t even be seen on the horizon.
What we often overlook is that wants are goals, which also imply lacks. Something is a goal because we presently don’t have it. When we remain conscious of NOT having it, the feelings associated with that will keep us yearning rather than gaining.
When we focus on the joy of having it, having already succeeded, our focus is on the positive feelings being experienced in the present; for instance, feeling more prosperous, in better health, in happier conditions, etc. Then THOSE feelings are expressed in the world around us, in our experience of life, rather than the sadness and frustration of being deprived.” - Ivan Kelly
Having just re-read The Creative Mind by the metaphysician, and one of the founding father’s of the New Thought movement, Ernest Shurtleff Holmes; I am again staggered by the wisdom and insight contained within it’s short 48 pages; And reminding myself that it was written in 1918 ! Long before ‘The Law of Attraction and other New Age metaphysical ideas- Blows my mind even further..
If you have never heard of the great man here is a short bio from Wiki -
Ernest Shurtleff Holmes (January 21, 1887 – April 7, 1960) was an American New Thought writer, teacher, and leader. He was the founder of a Spiritual movement known as Religious Science, a part of the greater New Thought movement, whose spiritual philosophy is known as “The Science of Mind.” He was the author of The Science of Mind and numerous other metaphysical books, and the founder of Science of Mind magazine, in continuous publication since 1927. His books remain in print, and the principles he taught as “Science of Mind” have inspired and influenced many generations of metaphysical students and teachers. Holmes had previously studied another New Thought teaching, Divine Science, and was an ordained Divine Science Minister. His influence beyond New Thought can be seen in the self-help movement.
And below is the work itself in PDF format..Enjoy
Continuing our look at the great metaphysical teachers who have helped shaped the ‘New Thought’ movement we are experiencing today-
Christian D. Larsen
Christian D. Larson (1874 – 1954) was an American New Thought leader and teacher, as well as a prolific author of metaphysical and New Thought books. He is credited by Horatio Dresser as being a founder in the New Thought movement. Many of Larson’s books remain in print today, more than 100 years after they were first published, and his writings influenced notable New Thought authors and leaders, including Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes.

Times they are -a- changing. There is no doubt that we are all entering a time of change. All over the world people are experiencing a shift in human consciouness. And as with any change things can become a little difficult for many of us as we strive to understand and adapt to this new growth.
So how can we manage this sprititual evolution..these growing pains effectively?
As we move into a rapidly changing and unpredictable future, we can prepare for the shifts that inevitably will occur by preparing our states of awareness, or developing ’’consciousness preparedness”.
Over the past 15 years I have facilitated consciousness development courses designed to help people move into their highest potential. I have witnessed miraculous healings, impressive feats of psychokinesis, extraordinary psychic abilities, and, in general, seen a wealth of evidence indicating that humans are evolving beyond the limits of our five physical sense-abilities. And the speed and levels at which I see more and more people developing these natural abilities causes me to believe that we are ultimately headed for a positive, exciting time in our human experience.
Here are the 12 consciousness skills that will ensure your positive future and help you flourish in times of change:
1. Stay centered. Learn and practice ways to hold to the center of who you are, recognizing your essential wisdom, essential compassion and essential love for self and others. No matter which way the pendulum swings (and its always swinging!) hold center and know your place of centered calm; operate and make decisions from this place.
2. Access your inner guidance system. Develop skills to increase and trust your intuition or sixth sense. We were all born with a magnificent guidance system, it communicates with us in many ways: sensations in the body, a nagging feeling, through dreams and inspirations and hunches, and synchronicities. Also, look at life from a broader overview, learn from OBE (out-of-body) and NDE (near-death experience) writings. In other words, go deeper and higher.
3. Raise your energy and vibrations. Everything at its deepest, most observable level is patterns of energy. This is a vibrational universe, responsive and interactive on levels we may not even understand yet. It seems to be a magnetic- and attraction-based system, so what we send out, we attract back to us. Some ways to raise your energy: be grateful, focus on beauty, practice forgiveness, spend time with upbeat loving people or animals, wear colors that make you feel good, move your energy through dance, exercise, body therapies, do things that really bring you pleasure, give service to others.
4. Project the reality you wish to experience. Use visualizations, affirmations, mantras. Learn metaphysical manifestation techniques, and use them. These help to create an energetic template for physical matter to form into. Use words, images, songs, and above all, feelings to assist in creating your reality.
5. Move into trust. Adopt the mindset that no matter how things are going, everything we experience has purpose, and find the inner growth purpose within your current experience. Often ask yourself, “How can I grow or change something within my life as a result of this experience?” As we change, the world around us changes…

The Taosist view of the Universe according to English Philosopher Alan Watts-
Alan Watts describes the Taoist principles which keep Life in Balance
At the very roots of Chinese thinking and feeling there lies the principle of polarity, which is not to be confused with the ideas of opposition or conflict. In the metaphors of other cultures, light is at war with darkness, life with death, good with evil, and the positive with the negative, and thus an idealism to cultivate the former and be rid of the latter flourishes throughout much of the world.
To the traditional way of Chinese thinking this is as incomprehensible as an electric current without both positive and negative poles, for polarity is the principle that plus and minus, north and south, are different aspects of one and the same system, and that the disappearance of either one of them would be the disappearance of the system…
